5 Reasons You Should Throw Your Holiday Party in January

November 20, 2018

The holidays can be a wonderful, crazy stressful time of the year. It’s pretty difficult to coordinate parties, gifts, family trips, and to enjoy the entire thing. Office holiday parties often get tossed to bottom of priority lists, and are either forgotten, or are right smack in the middle of everyone’s busiest week of the year. That’s why we think everyone planning office parties should make one huge change to their festivity planning: wait until January. Stay with us – it makes sense.

1.Your options for locations are pretty limited if you’re trying to throw a holiday party at the same time as everyone else. Have your pick of places in January – get that prime Thursday night spot that’s impossible to find in December.

2.Minimums are less in slower seasons at restaurants, so you’ll save a ton of money by bumping that bash back a few weeks.

3.Everyone is stressed out in that two-week stretch before Christmas. There is never enough time to shop for gifts, see family, and finish all the work that needs to be done before the break. A company holiday party in the middle of that can seem like just another added stress – and who wants that? In January, the stress has passed, and everyone can enjoy themselves.

4.More people will come! Isn’t the point of the holiday party to bring everyone in the company together to have fun? Instead of throwing the party right when your employees are starting to take time off to travel, wait until everyone is back.

5.January needs some spicing up. It’s usually the coldest, bleakest month of winter, the fun of the holidays is over, and everyone is a little broke from December’s fun. January is really when everyone needs a reason to celebrate.
