Proud of our City. Proud of our Staff.
April 22, 2013
Simply put, last week was like no other. We watched our beloved city get attacked, mourn, band together, shut down, and finally cheer. As a new week begins we continue to pray for those directly affected, but especially for the friends & family of Martin Richard, Krystle Campbell, Lingzi Lu, and Sean Collier..
We at the Briar Group are incredibly proud of our city and our staff. We would like to thank all the first responders, law enforcement agencies, doctors, nurses, and good samaritans who helped save so many lives last week. We will never forget their courage and strength. The Briar Group owns three restaurants in The Lenox Hotel – Solas, City Table, and City Bar – located across the street from the first explosion. On the day of the bombing our staff, specifically, Mike Carlisle, Brendan Griffin, Kaylee Platt, Jason Nill, Dennis Wilson, and Sean MacAlpine managed the traumatic situation like heroes and took great care of our many guests – making the entire Briar Group so proud!
These restaurants have been closed to the public since Monday afternoon, but our staff has remained. They stayed and worked long hours to clean up and take care of the Police and Military personnel working tirelessly on the investigation. Many restaurants in the city were quick to offer their support. Ned Devine’s, Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks , Stella Restaurant and Bar, Wagamama, and Smith & Wollensky Boston Steakhouse provided meals for those working on the crime scene when our kitchens no longer could. We are incredibly grateful for their kindness and generosity.
It will be a long time until our city is truly back to normal. We witnessed a horrific event, but also saw beautiful moments of our city, our nation, and our world, coming together: from the TD Garden singing our National Anthem as one , to the NY Yankees showing their love for Boston , to people in the London Marathon running for Boston . In times like these it’s important for us to remember that there is more good in this world than evil.
If you are interested in helping here are few ways we know:
Attend Salute for our Heroes at MJ O’Connor’s Park Plaza this Thursday. The event will benefit The 100 Club of Massachusetts which provides financial support to the families of fallen heroes. Eat, drink, honor, and bid on silent auction items!
Drink Sam Adams 26.2 Brew. Sam Adams is donating all proceeds to the victims of the bombing. Here’s a list of the bars that had the brew – it goes fast so we’re not exactly sure where it’s left. We do know that Anthem Kitchen + Bar still has it on tap!
Donate to The One Fund, Inc. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino set up the organization to help those affected by the bombing.
Donate to The Richard Family Fund . A fund set up specially for the Richards family, who lost their young son in the bombing and seriously injured the mother and young daughter.
Thank ALL men & women in uniform who risk their lives to keep us safe!
Boston Strong.
